Plastic Items

Ever wonder what those numbers mean on the bottom of a plastic container? Wonder no more!

Each number (1-7) indicates a container type. Th eplastic industry developed these numbers to label the different types of plastic because each type melts differently when it is being recycled. It helps sorting facilities such as the one here in Princeton to properly seperate the containers.

Currently, all containers are accepted at the Recycling Drop-off center except for those marked #6.
