Child safety seats, when properly installed, save lives. A study released by the National Safe Kids Campaign, however, reports that at least 85 percent of the 17,500 seats inspected were installed incorrectly. The most common misuses were the safety belt not holding the seat tightly and harness straps not being used properly.
The Princeton Fire Department staffs 3 certified car seat technicians to assist and educate the community regarding proper car safety seat installation. Princeton Fire Department provides child safety seat inspections by appointment.
Please call (815) 875-1861 to schedule your seat inspection today!
GENERAL INFORMATION

2. The car seat's owner's manual.
3. Your vehicle's owner's manual.
Please ensure you have prepared the seat for the installation, which means removing the seat from the box and plastic wrapping, etc.
To ensure a certified car seat technician is on site for their appointment.
Each vehicle, seat belt and car seat presents a unique and sometimes challenging situation. Having your seat(s) checked by a trained technician will lower the chance of your children being unnecessarily injured in a crash.
